Welcome to the Wikipedia Cleanup project. This project is intended as a resource for Wikipedia Cleanup information and discussion. Cleanup issues that this project covers may include wikification, spelling, grammar, tone, and sourcing.

Lists of pages requiring cleanup are automatically generated from the {{cleanup}} banners placed on articles. See Category:All pages needing cleanup and Category:Cleanup by month. Older articles with issues that have not been dealt with in some time may be found at Wikipedia:BACKLOG.

The Wikipedia Cleanup Legacy List

The manually maintained lists on this page (below) have to an extent been superseded by category lists that are automatically generated from the {{cleanup}} banners placed on articles. See Category:All pages needing cleanup and Category:Cleanup by month.

You may add cleanups here as well if you wish (though it is not necessary); see Wikipedia:Cleanup process for further information. Please only add articles to this list that are unlikely to be fixed without the help of Wikipedia cleanup volunteers. Editors are STRONGLY encouraged to try to perform clean-up themselves before posting articles to this list. Help in cleaning articles on this list is also greatly appreciated. Please keep in mind that the lists here constitute only a small fraction of the Wikipedia articles tagged as needing cleanup, and they may not always be maintained as new articles are tagged or old articles are fixed. The list is still active through a number of editors who do still regularly try to attend to this list. Assistance and participation of other editors is welcome.

You may report confusing/messy articles below and explain why they need to be cleaned-up (grammar, spelling, formatting, order, copyright issues, confusion, etc.). Be sure to cross post your entry on the article's own discussion page for the references of other editors who may not visit this page. Please do not add articles below simply because they are POV or are lacking sources. Make sure to sign your additions with the following format: --~~~~.

2009

December 2009

  • Asian fetish - five years and five AfDs and the article has yet to settle on what the topic is or reach a reasonably stable state. Шизомби (talk) 21:12, 15 December 2009 (UTC)

November 2009

October 2009

  • Tundra tire - Article is very short and misses references or sources since 3 June 2008. Perhaps irrelevant for Wikipedia? --High Contrast (talk) 08:05, 16 November 2009 (UTC)
  • Quintana Roo - Important article about one of the 31 Mexican States. History section is filled with useless term paper stuff about Mayan cross symbolism. Also contains a long rant about globalization. Very little about the state itself. --Nolandda (talk) 21:49, 5 October 2009 (UTC)
  • Indus Creed - Article about band does not cite any references, while claiming to be the first big rock band in India, the first one with good videos etc. Example: Indus Creed holds the distinction of being India's premier rock band . No references cited for this and similar claims. Debangshu Mukherjee (talk) 20:26, 27 October 2009 (UTC)

September 2009

  • Canaryville - Besides that the article ought to be merged with New City, Chicago, the article itself is not cited and poorly written. Ryecatcher773 (talk) 02:52, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
  • 2009 in aviation - This article needs to be completely rewritten, or at least seriously cleaned up. The article is full of spelling and grammatical errors and is very hard to follow. Unacceptable on any standards. --Starbucks95905 (talk) 17:15, 21 September 2009 (UTC)

August 2009

July 2009

  • London Buses route 492 Slightly 'bus-route fannish'
  • Rodolfo Valentin - survived AfD despite concerns of problematic referencing and a self-promotional tone. The article could use vigorous editing. Pastor Theo (talk) 12:05, 23 July 2009 (UTC)
  • Feres v. United States seems to have some conflicts with the information presented in articles related to a recent event. I've added additional information on the talk page, Talk:Feres_v._United_States. --Ultima Designs (talk) 04:14, 21 July 2009 (UTC)
  • CB radio in the United Kingdom - placed in AfD, even though the nominator felt it just needed merging or editing. The AfD closed as Keep, but the article remains and needs a good scrubbing. Pastor Theo (talk) 00:15, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
  • I know I just added an article that needs cleanup recently, but I found another. Comparison of Linux and Windows is a little hard to understand. Plus, there are at least nine citation needed tags on that page, some of which are from February of 2007. Also, I have found false information, which I will correct shortly, which claims that Linux has poor out of the box usability. This is only partially true, if at all, because there are several distributions. Ubuntu, the distribution I use, had great out of the box usability. Guess what? That statement had no citation. I have also seen claims of bias in the talk page, leaning both ways. That article would be a lot more informative if only it made more sense. EDIT: I will NOT be correcting that fact. Confusing context thwarts me yet again.Dullstar (talk) 09:17, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

June, 2009

  • Le Palais des Thés - possible copying of advertising material.
  • metamaterial Incomprehensible to the person who wants to know what they are - the French intro is clearer.
  • Gex (Video Game) - Story needs to focus more on the game itself, not the background information. 5 June 2009
  • Amorous Professor Cherry - Needs a complete rewrite. --65.31.110.13 (talk) 01:42, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
  • United States House of Representatives elections, 2010 - Needs grammar and punctuation fixing and elimination of some redundant phrasing. CylonCAG (talk) 17:29, 4 June 2009 (UTC)
  • Violence Against Women Act - relisting this article from 2007. Needs to be revised. lacks focus and contains a lot of unrelated information. See talk page for details. --Lendorien (talk) 14:41, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
  • Mimika Air Flight 514 - Article that justed passed afd. Still needs much cleanup. Highest Heights (talk) 15:54, 5 June 2009 (UTC)
  • Articles messed up on 18 February 2009 —Christian Campbell 07:21, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
  • Much of hydraulic power steering appears to have been written in a foreign language and automatically translated to English, with the resulting effect that the technical sections are almost completely unreadable: "In a neutral position section of the bores passing a liquid in the right and left part of the hydrocylinder, identical with section of bores issued a liquid from them in a tank. The pressure in the right and the left parts of the hydrocylinder is the same too" (???). I'm trying to fix up the grammar and make the sentences mean something, but my ability to do so is directly limited by my extreme ignorance of the subject matter (which is, of course, why I visited the page at first). Destynova (talk) 11:48, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

Cleaned up.
